Rec. Oct. 19, 10.10 p.m. SYDNEY, Monday. Mr Davis, part owner of Phar Lap, maintains his retieence regarding the possibility of Phar Lap starting in the Melbourne Cup. It is hinted that if the weather should be wet on Saturday it might be necessary to withdraw the horse as lOst 101b is a terrific impost under such conditions. At tbe same time, nothing would give Phar Lap's owners greater pleasure than to win a second Melbourne Cun.
