Rec. Oct. 19, 7 p.m. SYDNEY, Monday. The body of Dulcie Bryce, who has been missing since September 21 following the discovery of a girl's body in a basement, was found on the rocks at Boat Harbour, near Cronulla. It is understood that a letter in the possession of the police allegedly written by Mrs Bryce, Dulcie's mother, intimated that she was • overcome by the misfortune that befell Sheila Gilligan, the girl whose body was found in the Philip Street basement on September 21, and decided to kill the girl and then herself and her daughter Dulcie. She gave Dulcie a sleeping draught which was ineffective. The mother and daughter then agreed to end their lives together. A message from Sydney on September 23 stated that the police had discovered a woman's body on the water's edge at Cronulla beach. Detectives thought the woman, who had apparently committed suicide might he identical with the one for whom they were searching in connection with the murder of Miss Gilligan. The discovery of the body of the woman increased the mystery surrounding the affair. The body is now believed to be that of Mrs May Bryce, the aunt of the dead girl. It is learned that Mrs Bryce's daughter, Dulcie, ' aged 18, who is a brilliant university student, is missing- and it* is feared that she has met an untimely end. A message on September 24 said: •The woman whose body was found on Cronulla Beach has been definitely identified as Mrs Bryce and the police believe that her daughter Dulcie was drowned with her as the result of a death pact.
