Rec. Oct. 16, 11 p.m. NEW YORK, Friday. A senstion was created to-day by the announcement that a special legislative committee, which has been investigating the affairs of Tammany Hill have unearthed much bribe taking by Tammany leaders and have finally traced bank and brokerage accounts totalling 1,000,000 dollars to Russell Sherwood, financial agent and accountant, for Mr. Walker, Mayor of New York. All the efforts of the' committee's counsel to find Sherwood, who disappeared two rnonths ago, have failed and counsel now charges Mr. Walker with keeping Sherwood out of the State in order to prevent him from being questioned. The Mayor when asked his opinion, said: "I have nothing to say."
