...COFFEE CAKE WITH HONEY.... Ingredients: 2| cupfuls flour-, pinch salt,' 1 egg, 3 tablespoonfuls of honey, £ teaspoonful cinnamon, 3 teaspoonfuls baking powder, 4 tablespoonfuls butter, a little milk, 3 tablespoonfuls of sugar. Sift flour, baking powder and salt, and rub in the butter. Beat the eggs and add milk to egg to make about 1| cups, then stir in the honey. Add to the flour, etc. ; turn jnto. a buttered cake tin, brush the top with melted butter, and egg yolk, well beaten, milk cinnamon mixed. HONEY DATE PUDDING, Ingerdients. 2 cups dates, 2 eggs, 1 cup flour, £ cup rolled oats, I cup nuts cut flne, | cup honey, 1 tahlespoonful baking powder. Mix all well, and bake in a moderate over for 20 minutes. Serve with whiped cream. POTATO PUFF. Two cups hot mashed potatoes, two teaspoonfuls butter, two eggs, paprika, one cup milk. To potato and butter, ad egg yolk, well beaten, milk, and dast of paprika. Stir well, fold in stiffly beaten egg whites, and pile in a well-buttered baking dish. Bake in moderate oven ten minutes. Serve at once. Grated cheese (half a cup to one cup of potato) is an excellent addition, either to mixture or to the top.

STEAK SAVOURY. Slice your steak and put a layer in the bottom of a basin, then a layer of kidney. Over this spripkle a little salt and pepper and a little flour together with one onion, sliced. Then repeat till the basin is filled. Take a desertspoonful of vinegar and two teaspoonfuls of sugar. Mix in enough water to just cover your meat. Place a cover over the top and cook in the oven slowly about 2k hours. FISHPIE. Clean and cut fish across in 3in squares. Boil the bones for stock with a small onion, carrot, seasoning, and a bunch of herbs. Then strain, pack the pieces of fish closely in a pie dish, season with pepper and salt, and sprinkle a little minced parsley here and there. Add some of the stock. Cover with a crust of puff pastry and bake till nearly done, then pour a small teacupful of warmed cream through the hole in the centre and bake till ready.
