FIRST MEETING OF NEW EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE

The newly eleeted' committee Of the Rotorua Cricket Association held its first meeting of the season on Monday evening". Mr H. L. Musgrave presided. It was decided to hold over the appointment of selectors in the meantime, and Messrs Burton, Pitts and Reed agreed to act pro tem. Mamaku and Ngongotaha Clubs were granted permission to play all their first-round matches in Rotorua. Two wickets at the High School were offered in order to increase the playing areas available. ' Draw For First Series The draw for the first series resulted:— Alhlon v. High School, at High School; Old Boys v. City at High School; Mamaku "v. Ngongotaha, at Government . Grounds. All matches are to start at 2 o'clock. Umpires were appointed as follows: — High School v. Albion, Messrs_ Fuller and Clark; Old Boys vr^Clty, Mr Catt; Mamaku v. Ngongotaha, Mr Kelly. It wag agreed to retain the light bali for the coming season.Messrs J. H. Burton and J. Hinton were appointed delegates to the Bay of Plenty Association. It was decided to accept December 13 (Matata) and January 29 (Rotorua) as suitable dates for Association matehes. A bat is to be purchased as a trophy for presentation to High School as runners-up in last season's senior coilipetition. Te Puke Match Mr F. Reed was appointed manager of the Rotorua team which will play Te Puke at Rotorua on Labour Day. Arrangements for.lunch and afternoon tea iii connection with this match were left in' the hands of Mr. Musgrave and the secretary. The game is scheduled to start at 10.30 a.m. and players are requested to be on the ground at ,10 o'clock. Mr Clark was appointed' umpire for this game and club secretaries were instructed', to hand to the secretary of the association" a list of piayers worthy of seleetion for representative fixtures. These lists are to he in the hands of the secretary seven days before each match.
