GRAND THEATRE
TO-NIGHT Actors play the parts of actors' in "Dude Ranch," Jack Oakie's Paramount comedy, with the big name supporting cast, which opened last night at the Grand Theatre. Ths story of this hilarious comedy, hased upon Milton Krim's humorous novel, "The Lone Rider of th'e Mojave," reveals the fun that ensues when a travelling troupe of stage performers take over the nndercover amusement concession at a ritzy guest house in the Rockies. Oakie is seen as the star aetor of
the troupe. The other are Eugene Pallette, Mitzi Green and Cecil Weston. Arriving at the ranch owned by Stuart Edwin, they suggest that he will he making things interesting for his patrons, if he allows them to dress up as characters of the old Wests, and put on a few realistic scenes in the vicinity of the hotel. * The stunt works, and the patrons get all thrilled over the gun-flourish-ing deeds of the "Westerners." June Gollyer, prettiest guest at the hotel, becomes enamoured of the roughriding, sure-shooting Oakie. But the hoax hits a bumpy place when a band of real outlaws arrive on the scene, fresh from a bank hold-up in the nearest town. The desperadoes plaCe the blame for the crime on the inoeent Jack — and there is plenty of fun stirring as a result.
