"OLD BLACK JOE, THE RAILWAY "FOE" WRITES TO NEWSPAPER ATTEMPT TO WRECK TRAIN AUCKLAND, Wednesday. Followsmg the attempt on Monday night to wreck a train near the Mt. Eden Station the editor of an Auckland newspaper has reeeived a letter in print handwriting purporting to be from the man responsible, who signs himself "Old Black Joe, The Railway Foe." The writer describes how he obstructed the line and telephoned the poiice, and asserts that with a number of others he looked on while the obstruction was being inspected by the poiice. Further, he alleges that he was responsigie for three previous attempts to stop trains. Only himself was concerned, and he regrets that he cannot sign his name, "as there may be more sensations yet." The letter was handed to the poiice.
