PRIME MINISTER GIVEN FREE HAND TO DRAFT MANIFESTO POLL THIS MONTH PROBABLE

Kec. Uct. 7, xa.m. LONDON, Tuesday. The Prime Minister, Mr. Ramsay. MacDonald arrived at Buekingham Palace at 9.15 this morning. It is understood that he advised his Majesty to grant a dissolution. The Cabinet meeting last night was continued until midnight, when it is understood unanimous agreement was reached in favour of an immediate election. | The Prime Minister will make a I statement in the House of Commons on Wednesday. The date of the poll has not yet bee|n announced, but it will probably be Wednesday, October 28. The Prime Minister has been granted a free hand in the formulation of a manifesto to be issued on behalf of the National Government. It is understood Sir Herbert Samuel will remain in the Cabinet. The prorogation will take place on Wednesday.
