The Government meteorologist is- 9 sued the following weather report and ® forecast last night: — S General situation: A series of pressions has bee'n moving over ttraiW Tasman Sea and the South Isiand,® and a slight cyclone has been centred 1 to-day near Westport. Pressure is 9 high over the Northern Tasman Sea 9 and Northern New Zealand. 9 Forecast: Freshenlng southerly 1 winds in Otago; elsewhere moderate 9 to strong northerlies, of gale force in 1 districts about Cook Strait, backing 1 to westerly and iater to south-wester- 9 ly in many places. The weather will % be unsettled and somewhat squaliy, fl with scattered rain in mo?t districts § and further heavy falls on the West 1 Coast of the South Island, with some 1 flooding; thunder in places.
