italian air force repair 'plane and air ambulance SEARCH NOT YET STARTED

Rec. Oct. 1 11.30 p.m. ROME, Thursday. The Air Force, acting on instructions from the Air Ministry, is keeping ambulance and repair 'planes ready, but no effort has yet been made to search for Air Commodore Kingsford Smith since the chances of find'ng the airman in the countless small valleys of the Apennine ranges are considered very remote.
