HIGH SCHOOL OLD PUPILS
DANCE COMMITTEE MEETING. At a meeting of the Rotorua High School Old Pupil's Association committee held on Tuesday evening, Mr. R. Wehb took the chair. Before declaring the meeting open, he welcomed the members present and congratulated the Association on choosing such a fine committee of workers. Amongst those present were Misses E. Simmers, J. Isdale, V. Hale, F. Bates, N. Devin (secretary), Messrs. R. Webb I (ehairman), P. Gainsford, T. Carnachan, C. Cottrell and R. Dawson. Apologies for ahsence were received from Messrs. J. Godsalve and A. Cottrell.
The committee met to discuss arrangements for an annual ball to be held in the Majestic ballroom on either Wednesday, 21st October, or on the first available Friday following Labour Day. Invitations were left in the hands of Mr. Webb, and supper preparations in the hands of Miss E. Simmers, with the help of the girls of the committee. It was decided that all names of outside applicant3 for invitations for special friends of Old Pupils whose names were not already on the lists, should be placed before the committee. The possibility of girls who have just left school "coming out" at the dance was left open for discussion. Cards, 500 or bridge would be discussed at a further meeting of the committee. Novelty dances decided upon are: — Monte Carlo, Number Dance, Spotlight^ Lancers, Chain Waltz, Streamer and Confetti. It is hoped that invitations to the dance will be out within the next fortnight.
