NEW RIFLE CLUB
PRESENTATION OF SHOOTING TROPHIES FOR THE MONTH. CALLING PUBLIC MEETING. A well attended meeting1 of members and friends of all the organisation3, interested in miniature rifle shooting in Rotorua met at the Drill Hall on Tqesday evening for the pre sentation of the R.S.A. Club's monthly trophies and to discuss the formation of a new rifle club. The meeting wa3 opened by his Worship the Mayor, Mr. T. Jackson, who presented trophies to Mr. G. H. Weir for the highest aggregate score for the month, and to Mr. W. J. Gil lett, for the beist score on handicap. Mr. C. L. Knight then took the chair and gave a hrief •summary of the activities of the R.S.A, rifle club for the past few months. He also bought forward a proposal that a Rotorua Rifle Club he formed. A motion that the meeting form itself into the Rotorua Miniature Rifle Club iWas put forward, and was carried unanimopsly. A provisional committee was formed consisting of Messrs. C. L. Knight, G. H. Weir, S. J. Walker, R. H. Reid, P. Butler and C. Peppqr, to draw up a set of rulcB and to call a public meeting', to he held at the Citizgns' Club on Friday, Octoher 2. A recommendation was made to the committee that the annual subscription for members of the new club be 2s 6d.
