JOURNEY OVER DESERT FROM BAGHDAD TO ! ALEPPO I i AIRMAN VERY TIRED

— By Telegraph — Copyright).

BAGHDAD, Tuesday. Air Commodore Kingsford Smith arrived here at 5.30 this afternoon. He refilled his petrol tanks and left for Aleppo 20 minutes later, hoping to arrive before mid-night. The journey from Jask, he said, bristled with difficulties owing to sandstorms and head winds. He was forced to land at Bushire, where he remedied oil trouble in the oil-feed system. The airman, who was very tired, was cheered as he took off for tonight's Journey of 500 miles across the desert which should present no difficulty as it will be moonlight and the wind has decreased.
