ARTICLE BY MR. COOLIDGE CAUSES POLITICAL SENSATION ASKS SUPPORT FOR HOOVER

Mr. Calvin Coolidge, former President of the United States, has caused another political sensation with an article in the "Saturday Evening Post" dispelling rumours that he would permit himself to "be drafted" for the Presidency. Commenting on his "I do not choose to run" statement of 1927, he writes: "Why should it be supposed that when I was then seeking to escape, I am now seeking to acquire?" "It has long .been the practice to give the President in office a second nomination," he continued. "Any other course is open to the gravest objections."
