MR. W. McFARLANE
The death oecurred on Tuesday of Mr. William McFarlane, at his home in Giey Street, Cambridge, at the age of 79 years. Mr McFarlane was horn in Glasgow, Scotland, and came out to New Zealand in the 1890's. He Iived for a short time at Mamaku and then took up his residence in Rotorua, where he remained until six years ago, when he moyed to Camhridge. 4 . , During the years he lived in Rotorua, Mr. McFarlane, made many friends, and was one of the founders of the Rotorua Bowling club in 1901. In 1903, partnered by Mr C. * Kusabs, of Rotorua, he won the first j open bowling championsfiip at Te I Aroha. Mr McFarlane, wa3 a builder and contractor by- occupation, and constructed many of the buildings in Rotorua. He is survived by his wife, Mrs Isabella McFarlane, two son^ and four daughters, and several grqnd-children.
