FRANCE AND GERMANY

ECONOMIC COMMISSION SHORTLY TO BE FORMED FOSTER CLOSE CO-OPERATION

-By Telegraph— Copyright).

Rec. Sept. 29, 7.1U p.m. BERLIN, Tuesday. After the close of the-Ger-mano-French discussion, M. Laval, Dr. Curtius and M. Briand announced that 'an economic commission will be created to devise means for close co-opera-tion between France and Germany. The commission will include business leaders, representatives of labour, and political representatives of both countries. The commission will meet either in France or Germany as it may be deemed desirable, and will seek new means of disposing of the countries' products without raising tariff barriers. Dr. Curtius and M. Briand will be alternating presidents of the commission. """ Era of Better Understanding M. Laval afterwards expressed the hope that an era of better understanding between France and Germany had begun which would benefit the whole world. It is understood that Dr. Bruening and Dr. Curtius tried to include in the communique a hint of an effort to obtain an eventual Franco-German customs union but it was omitted because it might arouse misgivings in Italy.
