USEFUL BORAX

Put |lb of borax into a tin or jar with a good-fltting lid. Sprinkle three or four drops of oil of spike lavender, oil of verbena, or oil of geranium into the borax. Put a pinch in the basin when washing, or use a larger quantity in the -bath. This cannot be beaten as a water softener and is very cheap. In a pint of hot water dissolve ioz of borax and add half a teaspoon of spirit of camphor and a teaspoon of tincture of myrrh. A wineglass of this in half a tumbler of water should be used when brushing the teeth. It whitens the teeth and hardens the gums.
