WELLINGTON, Tuesday. The saies of wages tax stamps during the first month of the new system which began on August 1 totalled £33,500, and an additional £10,000 was collected in wages taxes in amcunts paid directly into the Post Office. Together with the tax on wages of c:vi" servants, the total yield from stamp sa'es of all sorts was about £50.000 for the month. The emergen iy wages tax should therefore reaeh about £600,000 for the year.
