WELLINGTON, Tuesday. Speaking in the House of Representatives to-night after the Prime Minister, the Rt. Hon. G. W. Forbes had announced the formation of the Coalition Government, the Rt. Hon J. G. Coates, leader of the Reform Party, spoke of the difficulty the country (is facing and said it appeared to members of the Reform Party that if New Zealand was to be served, and served quickly, they should lend a hand. Mr. Coates asked his Party to stand behind the Government in a spirit of co-operation and appealed to citizens to support it in its endeavours to straighten out the country's position. Mr. H. E. Holland, Leader of the Labour Party, asked whether the new Government would decide to postpone the General Election Mr. Forbes said that as far as the eleetions were concerned, that would be considered by the new Government, the first aim of which was th'e linancial rehabilition of the country. The Prime Minister then moved the adjournment of the House until October 2.
