DEATH SENTENCE ON APIA MURDERER IS GOMMUTED. WELLINGTON, Saturday. The Chinese resident of Samoa, Chin Sung, recently convicted of murder at Apia, whose sentence has been reviewed, has been reprieved from the death ponalty. The Governor-General of New Zealand, on the advice of the Executive Council, has decided to commute the sentence to imprisonment for life.
