AUTOMOBILES FOR THE SCREEN

The whole world is familiar with the people who play-partg in motion pictures. But do you know anything ,at all about the automobiles which appear in the same sceens? You may admire-some expensive new limousine in which you see -your favourite star riding, or laugh at some antique model which appears to have been rescued from the crapiron heap. It is obvious that it would be a financially imposibilty for one studio to actually purchase all the cars that appear in its pictures on the screen. And, even if the company was wealthy enough to buy them, their storage would represent a demand for more space than would be possible. Most of the cars seen on the screen are hired jfor the particular picture. or pictures in which they appear. Obsolete cars are obtained from industry museumg by Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer.
