RUGBY, Friday. The aeroplane in which FlightLieutenant Stainf orth met with a mishap was raised from the eight fathoms in which is'had sunk in the Solent by a calvage boat to-daf. It did not appear to be much damaged. Preparations for Flight-Lieutenant Stainforth's attempt to break his own record of 379 m.p.h. over the International three kilometres course are continuing. The Standard Rolls-Royce engine has been removed from the Viekers 'plane in which Flight-Lieutenant Boothman ^won the trophy and set up a new 100 kilometres record of 342 miles an hour, and a special RollsRoyce engine, designed for an attack on the speed record is being installed in its place. The attempt will be made as soon as weather conditions are suitable.
