Press Association—

-"Post" Special Service.

HOSPITALITY AND TRAVELLING R'ec. Sept. 15, 7.50 p.m.

-Conyrig-ht.

By Telephone-

SYDNEY, Wednesday. Lavish entertainment, overmuch travelling, and wet grounds were described as the reasons why the Australian Rugby team had made such a poor showing in New Zealand by the manager, Mr Davis, who returned by the Manganui. He added that it was difficult to work up a combination in these circumstances, particularly as half the players came from other States. The Australians were confident of winning the Tests, although they failed after scoring one more try than New Zealand.
