ROTORUA BRANCH MEETING The meeting of the Rotorua branch of the New Zealand Labour Party held in St. John's Hall last night was well attended and the proceedings were marlced by considerable enthusiasm. Mr A. G. Cottrell, vicepresident, occupied the ehair. A resolution was passed expressing regret- at th© illness of the president, Mr A. Christopher, and hope expressed for his speedy recovery. Mr F. Moncur, the Labour candidate, was present and addressed the

meeting upon party questions and general satisfaction was expressed at the progress made with organisation for the 'election. It was unanimously decided to launch a big demonstration in Rotorua on Labour Day. The programme has not yet been definitely arranged, but 'it is anticipated that a big electoral conference will be held attended by delegates from all branches, coupled with a sports meeting and other social gatherings. Strong committees are in process of formation and it is confidently anticipated that the event will be one of the most important held in the history of the party in thfo eiectorate.
