To the Editor. Sir, — The motoi* cycle nuisance is in our midst once again and is, beirig regarded ■yvith the usual lassitude which has distingpished our borough trafiic authorities in the past. ' Iri other towns iri New Zealand these noise fiends who roar through towhS with open exhaUsts and a general rierverShattering clatter, are sternly dealt with, brit that is not the-case iri Rotorua. Here our zealous trafSc riuthbrities> chief concern appears to b.e the rihnoyance and harassing of lorry-driv-ers. who have cbiririiitted the grave and dealy sin of carrying an extra cwt-'or so on their vehicles. I do not in any way condone what is uriquestionably a matter of imminent danger to the nation, but I do suggest that overloaded lorries do not anrioy the general puhlic, while tpese clatter-barig indiviauals on motor cycles most certainly do. . On Sunday, an uncrowned speed king of the motor cycle persuasiofi apparen.tly mistook the main throughfare of the town, they will have rio option but walcefulness if this p'aisance continues. — I am. etc.,
