"ROMANCE OF MAORILAND" By arrangement with and co-opera-tion of the local schoolmasters, the Majestic Theatre management will run two special matinees as well as one evening showing for the latest film produced in New Zealand, entitled, "The Romance of Maoriland." Whiie being of a very educational nature, the picture is highly entertaining. The Romance of New Zealand, commencing with the arrival of the Maoris in New Zealand about 600 years ago, the arrival of Captain Coolc, and his discovery of the fijie Maori race, is inter-woven a very clever little love romance. Among the historical scenes are, thva signing of the famous Treaty of Waitangi, giimpses of the early wars, the arrival of the first pioneers, wlio laid the foundation of the present progressive colony, and New Zealand's first gold rush, with many other happenings of interest. Later the picture develops into a travelogue of New Zealand as it appears to-day, including the great Urewera country, showing an interesting picture of the prophet Rua, his family and his home among the hills, and complete trips of interest in Rotorua, concluding with a thrilling day among the sword fish and mako sharlc, in the beautiful waters of the north. Further interest is addecl to the picture by a descriptive lecture by the producer. A matinee will be given on Tuesday afternoon, also Wednesday afternoon and evening.
