Stories almost unbelievable in the light of Italy's withdrawal from the Schneider Cup, are circulated concerning a secret air-plane trial at Desenzano this week. It is claimed that Pellini did 4561 miles per hour and succumbed to unconsciousness owing to the great speed. It is also claimed that three other machines did 3932, 4182, and 4374 miles per hour, and that a further one, designed for the Schneider Cup, 's capable of 500 miles per hour. This ;s believed to be a freak machine, .vith tandem propellors working in ipposite directions.
