In lfl won a Makarini junior schofl tenable at Te Aute College, Hfl Bay, and entered that school irfl The year after he went to Tefl he v/on a Buller scholarshfl passed his pnblic service entrafl amination, while in 1928, twfl later, he matriculated. He was fl ber of the college first fifteenfl geant in the cadet corps, and fl considerable ability in debatinfl
The Arawa Trust and Maofl poses Fund Control Boards fl him a special leaving scholarfl 1929, enabling him to attend tfl versity. He is studying for thfl elor of arts degree and is thfl sitting his firfal section. Durjfl past two years he has done ccfl able coaching in Maori. He ifl ly interested in football, lawnfl and swimming. On going to (fl bury College in 1929 he plajfl the university senior A Rugbfl and represented the college fl Otago University and the fl University touring team.
