Mr Arthur Henderson followed the Prime Minister. He said the crisis was not the making of the late Government. Propaganda, both national and international, had created it." He would never agree to interference with the efficiency of the social services or to lowering the standard of lif.e by cuts in the unemployment benefit. The Opposition stood by the ideals and principles of the Socialist faith.
