jJHiiKUir, sunaay. Kaye Don, "the British challenger, in Miss England II, won the first heat for the Harmsworth Trophy defeateding the American Gar Wood in Miss America IX, by more than a mile. Miss England II shot over the starting line about six lengths ahead of Miss America IX and never logt the lead. Kaye Don established a now competitive race speed record of 89.913 miles an hour for a 30 mile course. In one lap he attained a speed of 93.017 statute miles an hour.
