MISS ENGLAND II. TO MEET MISS AMERICA IX. HARMSW ORTH TROPHY
Copyright.
Bv Teleuhone—
NEW YORK, Saturday. At Detroit, choppy- seas whipped by a south-west wind, caused the postponement of the first heat in the Harmsworth Trophy sea-boat race until Sunday. The respite will probably prove welcome to Gar Wood, the defender, whose challenge contender, the Miss Ameriea IX, was disabled on Friday and was only made ready by a score of workmen Who worked through last night and today replaeing a broken manifold in one of the super-charg-ers. The task facing Mr Kaye Don is made much less formidable by the withdrawal of Mr Horace E. Dodge with the Miss Syndicate III. Mr Gar Wood has withdrawn the Miss Ameriea V, leaving, only Miss Ameriea IX and Miss Ameriea VIII to compete against Mr Kaye Don with Miss England II.
