MELBOURNE GETS FACTORY. Melbourne is to have a f acton which would have been built in Sydney but for the politics of Mr Lang, acocrding to Mr D. C. Barrington, representing the British Xylonite Corn^ pany, who returned to Victoria by the Ormonde from England to complete arrangements for huilding a large bruslf factory near Melbourne. "I11 the flrst place," explained Mr Barrington, "it was decided to build the factory in New South Wales, hut because of the unsound policy of Mr Lang the directors changed their plans and agreed to open the industry in Victoria." The decision to go ahead with the project, which will mean emplojTnent I'or many men and girls, was reached after advice had been given by three London hankers, who said there should be no hesitation in sending British capi'al to Victoria for the establishment of new industries.
