It is probable that the white rats which are being brought out to New Zealand by Mr I. Gunningham, a seientist attached to the Department of Agriculture, will he used for purposes Of research into animal metabolism. Mr Cunningham went to England to do some s'pecial studies in animal nutrition work, and while there secured the rats for research purposes in New Zealand. The rats are of a type which has beep carefully bred for research work for generations.
