RETURN VISIT
ROTORUA ORPHANS VISIT CAMBRIDGE BROTHERS. On Saturday evening when a I party of the Rotorua Oiphans, including the orchestra paid their return vislt "to their Cambridge brothers, they were met by a full hall. and a hearty welcome. B±o. TFomas Hampshire, of Cambridge, y4s in the cha^r and in his openmg' speech he welcbmed Bro. J.. m. Il^oberts and the visiting orphans, epJressing his club's very sincere esbeern and their anticipation of a fine revening's entertainment. The evening passed rapidly with selections by the orchestra interspersed with humorous songs and recitations. Bro. Wood, early in the evening ably entertamed the gathering with his songs and recitations while other items rendered by Brp. G. Foster were very well received. One of the outstanding items of the evening was the violin playing of Bro. J. D. Painton. Bro. Thomas, of the Auckland Orphans' Club, possegsor of a very fine bass voice, proved such a success that he was recalled three tlmes. After supper President Sands, on behalf of the Cambridge Orphans, once again welcomed the visitors and voiced his club's appreciation of the programme. Bio. J. M. Roberts replied on behalf of the' visitors, thanking all present for their hospitality . and assuring them that their efforts were fully appreciated. Couneillor Bell', Deputy-Mayor of Cambridge, after apologising for the absence of the Mayor, welcomed the visitors on behalf of the Borough Council. ' . E ^cutionary items by Bro. F. Newmarch and a violin solo by Bro. J. D. Painton brought to a concTusion a delightful evening's entertainment.
