R. M

THOMSON.

The "Post" at aU times welcomes cox-respondenee from its readers. It must, however, be clearly understood that we aceept no responsibility for the views expressecl by our correspondents. (To the Editor.) Sir, — I wish to express my hearfcy appreciation of the Rugby match, Rotorua Hi^h School v. Grammar Juniors, at Eden Park last Saturday. " This was a rattling good game to watch and yet the Auckland papers have practically ignored it; and the official Rugby programme gave it a complete "miss." _ ■ Therefore, I think some recognition is only fair to the boys who entertained us with some really good footb'all. This is the third time I have seen a Rotorua High fifteen, and on each occasion I have been .pleased by their remarkably fine appearance A splendid physique so well set off by •their smart red and dark blue jerseys, and white shorts. 1 think it would be very hard to find a better looking set of boys on the Rugby field. There is another point I have also noticed on the three occasions, and that is in their style of play. There is a very pleasing "something" about it which is quite distinctive, and which is very hard to define. But it is there all right, and for want of a better term I would put it down as a wholesome kind of neatness. And mdy I express the hope that the Rotorua boys will always, keep their splendid style of play. With regard to Grammar Juniors, they also play a remarkably good clean game, and putting the two teams together I can honestly say that they provide some of the cleanest, most manly f ootball I • have had the privilege to watch' In fact, taking the school's curtain raisers'on Saturday, both games convinced me that Rugby is essentially a schools' game, and that in each instance, Rotorua v. Grammar, and New Plymouth High v. Grammar, we saw much' better foOtball than in the representative game at 3 p.m. .May the schools long continhe io provide us with such wholesome fare. - — T am. etc.
