FARMERS UNION

A meeting of the sub-provincial executive of the Rotorua branch of the New Zealand Farmers' Union was held yesterday, Mr. D. B. Higgins, of Matamata, presiding over a fair attendance of delegates. Captain Colbeck, representative of the Auckland branch> in an interesting address, dealt with some aspects of Sir Otto Niemeyer's report and with currency problems as they affected the farming community. Captain Colbeck also devoted some time to explaining the working of the ■ nnemployed regulations in regard to I farmers and furnished advice of con- ] siderable assistance in interpreting i the application of the Act. i On the motion of Mr. Higgins, se- i conded by Mr*. Watkins (Okoroire), it i was resolved that the Auckland 'executive be asked to expedite the holding of the proposed conference of dairy companies which will discuss ways and means for the elimination of : over-lapping in dairy manuf acture and administration. This conference is to take place at Hamilton and is of con*siderable importance to the industry as a whole. I Mr. T. F.
