GERMAN ULTIMATUM POSSIBLE. HUN OPINIONS IN CONFLICT. London, Aug. 31. , The German Wolf Agency is circulating sensational telegrams in Switzerland announcing that Germany is preparing an ultimatum to Ronmania. The Times,
New York, Aug. 32. Yon Weigand, the German war correspondent, asserts that Ronmania will not Intervene,
The KfenzZeitung says Ronmania will join the Allies. It is believed the Roumanian War Minister and the Russian attache yesterday discussed plans tor a Russian march through Ronmania. If this is arranged Germany will regard it as a causus belli.

BRITISH GOVBHNMnT’S INTENTIONS.
London, August 21. The War Office has appointed a central committee in England and Wales on matters arising oijt of the purchase and distribution of English wool. Mr Illingworth, M,P,,. is chairman. The committee includes representatives of wool growers, wool buyers, spinners and manufacturers, There are similar committees in Scotland and Ireland. Considerable wool has already been purchased. The. War Office announces that when the wool has been allocated for the existing British and Allied Government contracts, or non-Government purposes, the prices will be based on the current market rates, but the present wool will" be allocated tor non-Govern-ment purposes only where special circumstances or hardships can be shown. Wool will be issued for future War Office contracts at fixed prices, and the price paid'by the War Office for yard cloth will be basedjon the price at which wool is supplied. •
