• HUNTERYILLE PATRIOTIC SOCIETY INVESTS £3OOO.
Monday night’s meeting of the Hunterville Patriotic Society Com - miftee, the treasurer, Mr J. Chisholm, said that the matter of investing £3500 or more on the war loan had been discussed by some of them. Their money was invested with the Public Trustee until September 19th, and to break the investment would mean a loss of interest for the three months. It would pay them, however, .to do that in view of the biggger interest jiaid by the loan. Their rules did not allow them to borrow temporarily, and so save disturbing the investment' with the Public Trustee, bat Mr T. Duncan had offered to give his cheque for the amount of the deposit and transfer the bonds to the Society when they received their money. (Applause). . It was agreed, on the motion ot Messrs Chisholm and Jno. Wilson, that the Society invest £3OOO of its funds m thirty £IOO war bonds.
