COACHWORKERS’ AWARD.

The Coachtnakers Workers’ Indusrial Union met fhe employers at a Conciliation Council last night and framed a Dominion Award. The principal clauses are as follows: —47 hours a week, from 730, to 5.30 for five days and 7.30 to noon on one day. Wages of journeymen coachmakers Is 6d per hour; overtime rate \% for the first three hours, 1 % afterwards, and 3 for Sunday, Christmas and Good Friday, The wages of apprentices tor the first year to be 8s perweek; second year 13s 6d; third year 17s 6d; fourth, 355; fifth, 355. One apprentice allowed to every two journeymen, or fraction. thereof. One helper to each department except in the smith shop, where there must be one helper for each fire. Helper’s wages range from Is a week for boys of 15 to 16 years, to Is per hour over 21 years.
