SKIN AND HIDE SALES. Abraham and Williams, Ltd., g port on their fortnightly sale as follows:—Owing to the' crutchings sale being postponed until fst September' we held all bale wool over for that sale. We offered a full catalogue of all kinds of produce, which’ sold well. The finer skins showed a slight increase on last rates, hut the hulk of skins were on a par. Murray, Robert and Co., Ltd., report:—We offered a catalogue of 3700 sheepskins and 350 hides to ' a good attendance of buyers. for sound pelted skins we' r 6 f u iiy maintained at last rates, but for damaged and VLferior pelted skins prices wet? slightly easier, although not to any considerable extent., There was a keen inquiry for butchers’ green nd salted skins aat prices somewhat in advance of those ruling last sale. Hides fully maintained last sale’s rates, the only change being in calf, which were slightly easier. Tallow was in good demand at prices fully equal to last sale. The only wool offered was in bags and fadges, all bales being held for our next crntcbing sale, which takes place on Ist. September. Loan and Mercantile Co., Ltd., report: Our usual fortnightly sale was held at Wellington on Friday, when we offered a fair quantity of hng wool, and a small catalogue of sheepskins and hides. There was good competition for everything with the exception of seedy wool. Hides were in good request at prices a shade higher than date rates. The following range of prices was obtained;—Sheepskins; Halfbred 13d, fine crossbred lid to i2 l d, medium coarse crossbred lid to lj£2d, short to halfwools 7d to 10 Jadf dead and damaged crossbred G%d to 91£d, inferior and badly damaged to Td, lambs Od to ll%d, damp, salted and green Gs to 15s Gd, lambs salted 4s 8d to Gs Id. STOCK REPORT. Dalgety and Co,, Ltd., report having a very fair yarding of sheep and cattle at their Feilding sale on Friday, August 18th, which sold as below Sheep: Small mixed hoggets 15s to 15s 3d, woolly hoggets 265, medium mixed hoggets 19s 9d to 22s Id, fat wethers 34s to 34s 4d, 2 tooth wethers 30s. Cattle: Dairy cows £7 10s to £lO, cows and calves £7 10s, light fat cows £lO 10s. Loan and Mercantile Agency 00. reports; During the week we have held sales at Himatangi, Palmerston and FoildingAt Feiding on Friday a small ontryof sheep sold well. Cattle were in strong demand, dairy cattle, of which there was a large entry, selling particularly well. Grown steers also were keenly competed for. We made a complete clearance of our entry under the hammer, prices in all cases being in favour ot the vendors. Small hoggets 17s, low condition ewes in lamb 24s !)d, springing cows £9 5s to £9 Is, backward cows in calf £G 10s, springing heifers, 3 years old, £7 5s to £lO ss, 2 year springing heifers £G 15s to £8 15s, small mixed yearlings £3, P.
