THE WAR BONUS

TO BE PAID AT ONCE TO PUBLIC SERVICE. Per Press Assocation. Wellington, August 19. Mr Massey states that the war bonus will be paid to all sections of the Public Service at once. The second payment will be made before Christmas. There was a fair attendance at the public meeting called by the Mayor at the Coronation Hall, Marton, last evening. Mr F. G. Wilson (Mayor) presided. The speakers generally were in favour of doing all in their j powei to assist in floating the loan, and it was unanimously resolved “That this meeting of Marton residents pledges itself to do all in its power to assist in the issue of the £8,000,000 loan.’’
