COVETED BY UNITED STATES. DETERMINED TO HAVE THEM. Australian and New Zealand Cable Association. Received August 19, 9 a. in. Copenhagen, August 18. It is believed that the United States is pressing the sale of tbe West Indian because America fears the Islands might be ceded to some other Power after the war. A high official says that the United States’ action is decidedly pressing, and it is believed that if the sale remains unratified America will occupy St. Thomas’ Island.
