16TH REINFORCEMENTS.
AN ENTHUSIASTIC RECEPTION ' Per Press Association. , Christchurch, Aug. 16. The 16th Reinforcements received an enthusiastic reception during their march thorough the city today. The town is full of holiday makers for the Grand National Meeting. The streets were lined with thousands, cheering the troops as they marched from the Station to Victoria Square, where they were briefly addressed by the Mayor and Colonel Chaffey. They were then marched back to the train and sent south.
