Time, 7min 24 l^sec. When a little over a' mile had been traversed Fagot fell, bringing Recharge down. New York and Queen’s Post fell at the next fence passing Cutt’s. Ngatoa, Bransfield, Bravest, and Captain Macky came to grief at the sod wall, and Braeburn ran off al the post and rails. Thus, with a third of the journey completed, nearly half the field had disappeared. Prom that point, however, there were no mishaps, the jumping for the remainder of the journey being good, A mile from home Waimai, Idealism, Merry Lad and Black Sea were in close order, but Waimai always looked like a winner over the closing stages and he had something in hand at the finish. Merry Lad, however, finished well after losing a lot of ground through hitting the sod wall five furlongs from home, but for which he might have troubled the winner. Black Sea was going well up to the last fence, but stopped in the run borne. Idealism tired very badly when the final pinch came and was evidently not sufficiently seasoned for snch a task, Lady Bibbero just heading him near the post. Heatberlea plodded on and finished sixth, being followed by The Brewer, who ran well for two miles, when he hit each fence of the stand double hard. Wirokino and Tarero were next, the former being beaten by the distance, while Naupata was a long way back. Of those who came to grief Recharge fell oyer Fagot, while Queen’s Post seemed to bebronght down when New York tell. The winner gave a great exhibition of-clean fencing, outjnmping several of the others who raced at the obstacles very badly. His performance was a good one, "though it could be argued that there was nothing high-class about it.

Enfield Steeplechase, two miles.— 1 GJnepot 1, 4 Ikowai 3,2 Nita 8. Also ran; 10 Kingsway, 5 Well wood, 11 Fairy Finn, 8 Critic, 6 Oratonn, 8 Case Shot, 7 Rerebohu, 9 Precious Metal. Multnm, 15 Roumauia, 30 IciJma.

Cherry Blossom opened out a gap of half-a-dozen lengths from the rest of the field before the straight was reached, and she never let any of her opponents get near enough to make the contest interesting. Hex win was one of the most decisive ever witnessed in an important handicap. Heeltap was prominent in the second division, but Seddel Bahr finisfaed’strongly from a long way hack. Seadown, Jeannot and Gold Soult were others who made up a lot of ground over the last part of the journey. Time, Imin 48sec.
