FIRES AT TRENTHAM.

QUARTERMASTER’S STORES OUT TED. Per Press Association. Wellington, August 13, Two fires occurred at Trentham Damp to-day. The first, about ll a m , destroyed the quartermaster’s stores containing a large quantity of bootmaker’s stock and other goods, practically nothing being saved.

About 3 p.m. a second blaze occurred in tne quartermaster’s bulk store containing a large quantity of clothing, and the Army Service Corps’ fodder store, which was in the same building. The 'clothing was saved, bntihe fodder was'' consumed by the flame?. No other buildings, were damaged. The camp fire brigade did good work, and the Upper Uutt brigade arrived to aid in the later stages. The lire will not interfere with the equipment of the 'Expeditionary Forces.' The amount of damage is considerable, but no estimate is yet possible,
