ENEMY FIERCE COUNTER ATTACKS RUSSIANS MAKE PROGRESS. Petrograd, Aug. 10. Official.—The Austro - Germans are fierce counter attacking the woods between Memennco and Moesonol and the Seretb river. The Russians are believed to be preparing for a decisive battle for Stanislau, the strategic impotance of which south of Lemberg equals that of Kovel to the north, AN AUSTRIAN REPORT. London, Aug. 11. Austrian official.—The Russians made gfutile attacks northward- of Nijorow. There have been fresh fights southward of Yaloce. The enemy, since the serious failures on the Btb, has been less active to the west and northwest of Lutsk, but has again thrown masses who are attacking day and night northward of the Sarny-Kovel railway. Storming columns mostly broke before the entanglements and suffered severe loss throughout.
