SIR DOUGLAS HAIG’S REPORT. THE POSITION UNCHANGED. London, Aug. 11. Sir Douglas Haig reports: The position is unchanged on the whole British front. Enemy parties advancing southward of Martinpuich were repulsed. Several enemy aeroplanes were brought down. . ■' ' ' THE GUHjLEMQNT CONFLICT. AN OBSTINATE STRUGGLE. ANZACS DISTINGUISH THEMSELVES. London, Aug. 11. The Morning Post’s correspondent at headquarters states that the Guillemont struggle was most obstinate. Hitherto it had been indecisive, but the Anzacs added to their laurels by taking a useful slice of a trench north-west of Pozieres. THE FRENCH REPORT: LITTLE DOING. NOT FIGHTING WEATHER. Paris, Aug. 11. A French communique says:, Apart from a lively cannonade northward of the Somme and at Thiaumont, the day was quiet. The weather was unfavourable for operations.
