EXCCARTON.TRAIMING NOTES. Per Press Association. Christchurch, ArJlfnst 10. Drying winds are improving the tracks considerably. The outside course was open for gallops, though the going was heavy. Flying Start beat San Sebastian over seven furlongs in Imin 38geo. Jeaunot and Melfotd ran five furlongs in Imin 9sec. Battle Eve went half a mile in 52sec. Union Jack, Nita, Queens Post and Fagot finished in that order at the end of a mile in Imin 58sec. Kaminhoe- ran six furlongs in Imin 24sec. , Meltchikoff and Aurore went slightly better, Marconi, Harbour Light and Styrax were in ..that order at the end of ten furlongs in 2min 26sec.' . * ' . Gold Soult easily beat George over live furlongs, tho last four taking 52sec. Art w.ent a mile in Imin S4sec. Twelfth Night, Speedometer and Rorke’s Drift were in that order at the end of six furlongs, A large number of jumpers were schooled. Waimai gave a good display over a rouud of fences with Kawangi, who ran off at the double. Merry Lad, New York and The Brewer went a round of the fences, all jumping well. Selwood went with them, but was not so good and fell at the last tece. Precious Metal went once round over the fences safely. Free jumped faster than Municipal over two hurdles. Black Sea gave a good exhibition of fencing with Recharge, who fell at the hurdle beside the post and rails. Lady Bibbero gave a good display of fencing with Bravest, who showed more pace, but his jumping was only [fair, ,as he ran off at the double, |Wellwood, Critic, Tradior and Ikowai went a round over the fences, jumping well. Gladful jumped well in a round over the hurdles. Triereme went with him, but only gave a fair display. St. Elm and Tenacious went much better than Sartosti over a round of the hurdles.
Golden March and Sir Solo did a similar task, the former going better at the finish’.
