Anti aircraft guns in action ' in four places seem to have’been successful in nearly every [case in i- driving oft' the raiders, one of whom f was pursued several miles seawards r by a naval plane. ‘ The bombs mostly fell wide of any r centre of population. An exception was north-eastern town where s one man died of shock and two * women and three children were f killed and twelve persons injured. l ’- In another town one man, one woman and three boys were injured. Other casualties were four houses partly burnt, windows broken and . . fifty feet of railway torn up, one horse killed and lesser'damage done but none of military importance.
