HUN LOSSES IN RUSSIA.
TERRIBLE RESULTS OF ATTRITION RUSSIA UNAFFECTED BY LOSSES. Times Service. Received Aug. 9, 9.40 a.m. London, Aug. 8. Mr Washburn, reviewing the two months’ offensive on the part of Russia, states that the Russians have approximately advanced 55 miles at various points, taken prisoner three generals, 7064 officers 330 r OOO soldiers, 50 guns and 1200 machine guns, representing losses, including dead, casualties and missing, of three quarters of a million. He says he cannot state the Russian losses, but they are of no militray significance. Russia could sustain double the summer’s losses for five years without shortage of men.
