Mr Washburn, reviewing the two months’ offensive on the part of Russia, states that the Russians have approximately advanced 55 miles at various points, taken prisoner three generals, 7064 officers 330 r OOO soldiers, 50 guns and 1200 machine guns, representing losses, including dead, casualties and missing, of three quarters of a million. He says he cannot state the Russian losses, but they are of no militray significance. Russia could sustain double the summer’s losses for five years without shortage of men.
